Continuing Professional Development (CPTD)

The Continuing Professional Development System (CPTD) will be implemented on Post level 1 level from January 2016. This monitoring system requires of teachers to participate in every three year cycle to participate in enough professional development activities to collect a minimum of 150 PD-points. In order to assist you in this regard, the following steps need to be taken:

  1. Register as teacher at the South African Council for Teachers (SACE).

  3. Register for Continuing Professional Development (CPTD). 
  4. Click here to be taken to the site. Remember that you need your SACE-membershipnumber to register.
  5. Remember, you do not need to register at once for all PD activities, you only have to register so that your PD-points can be submitted

Informal learning

  1. Remember that the informal learning that happens in school environment resort under Type 1 and 2 activities.

  3. The aim of Arendsig Akademie CC is to train you in creating proof of participation in Type 1 and 2 activities.
